Hazardous Materials or Hazmat is any material that has been determined to be hazardous by the U.S. Department of Transportation.


It is the responsibility of Shippers and Carriers to comply with the regulations found in Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) Parts 171- 180.



Many individuals may not know they are shipping hazardous materials (HazMat), and so don’t know they must comply with the regulations.
